All Kids! The Children's Ministry of All Saints Church
All Kids! - our Children’s Ministry at All Saints Church - is structured to offer thoughtful and fun Sunday morning Christian education for children from birth through elementary school. Many of us who work in and lead All Kids! have children, so we know how challenging it can be to find a place where the whole family can worship, learn, and grow in Christ together. It is our earnest prayer that All Saints Church will be a place where parents and children alike are engaged in spiritual growth and encouraged to love and serve the Lord.
Vision and Mission
All Saints Church makes every effort to provide a safe and secure environment for children who participate in our programs and ministries. In our service to children, we seek to fulfill wholeheartedly our baptismal covenant to:
• Persevere in resisting evil
• Proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ
• Seek and serve Christ in all persons
• Respect the dignity of every human being
Our mission at All Saints Church is to become and make disciples of Jesus Christ -- people who worship God in spirit and truth, who grow together in mutual love and ministry, and who serve our local community in word and deed.
All Kids! Sunday Morning Ministries
Nursery
The nursery is available to children from birth through three years of age. Children may be dropped off 15 minutes prior to the worship service. Portable cribs are available for children needing to sleep during their time in the nursery.
Faith Formation
On Sunday mornings, we offer a Faith Formation class for preschool through 5th graders. Our Children’s Faith Formation class will be using Godly Play. The goal of Godly Play is to teach children the story of God and the art of using Christian language to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence and direction in their lives. Profoundly scriptural and traditional, the program makes room for children to be creative and seek answers to their own questions.
Faith Formation classes meet from 9:00 - 9:45 AM before the worship service.
Children’s Church
At All Saints Church, we prefer children to be as involved and connected in the worship life of the church as possible. Children’s Church enables kids to experience dynamic, whole hearted, and sacramental worship with their parents while also providing Biblical teaching and age-appropriate activities with peers. Children are dismissed to Children’s Church just after the Collect for the Children and they come back into the service in time for Holy Communion. There are three classes in our Children’s Church program: preschool (ages 3 to kindergarten), lower elementary (kindergarten through 2nd grade), and upper elementary (3rd through 5th grade).
All of our Children’s Church classes use an Anglican curriculum structured around the lectionary cycle of Scripture readings and liturgical seasons. Children take home crafts and resources for families to use together weekly.
First Communion
Each year during Lent (Feb - April), we offer our First Communion class. Children in 1st grade and older who have been baptised and are ready to begin receiving Holy Communion are invited to participate. First Communion is a 6-8 week course designed to prepare children to receive the sacrament authentically.
Children will receive first Communion on Easter Sunday. One parent is required to accompany each child to First Communion classes.
And More...
In addition to our Sunday morning programs, special events are planned to allow families a chance to spend time together with other families at All Saints. From Christmas plays and cookouts, to Easter egg hunts and special seminars, there are many chances for family fun and spiritual formation at All Saints Church!
