Knees, News, & Needs
Worshiping - Growing - Serving
July 3rd, 2009 |
Remember August 16th
This is the date we are praying and working toward to be (hopefully) our first
service in the Garrett Road facility, or (if necessary) our last service at
Creekside. To reach this goal, we need the Lord to intervene daily, to guide
and strengthen us and to open many doors along the way. Please pray and pitch
in any way you can to help as we work to upfit the facility and (eventually)
move. Contact Cindy Broderius to get your name on the growing volunteer list.

Generosity
"Generosity: Inside the soul of every Christian is a
God-inspired desire for the generous life -- a life tailored around His example
of selflessness and sacrifice." This quote is from the
introduction to a devotional guide entitled Generosity, by Gordon MacDonald. As
we draw our 5-week sermon series on Jesus' instructions on money and stewardship
to a close, one of our members has purchased enough copies of this excellent
study guide so that every individual or family who attends All Saints can have
one as a gift.
Please pick one up THIS SUNDAY (in the lobby) and use it over
the summer in your personal or family devotions as you pray, study and think
further about about how your life can reflect the generous heart of God.

Parking Changes
Due to major construction projects at Creekside this summer, our
parking situation will be changing. The regular entrance and exit for
the large parking lot will be accessible. If spaces in that lot are
limited when you arrive, please park in the school's front parking lot
(closest to the main entry). If the bus parking lot happens to be
closed, please find a space in front of the school or in the large lot.
We apologize for any inconveniences.

What About Iran? - July 12th
Wondering about what is going on in Iran and how
that is affecting the church there? On Sunday, July 12th, we
will have some visitors who support a ministry to Iran. Dan and Carmen Hale
will be sharing during the service and will be available before and after the
service to share about some work to reach the people of Iran. If
you are interested in hearing more about the church in Iran, the
International Outreach team will be hosting a lunch for the Hales after
church. Please contact Ashley Ransom (544-5205) if you are interested in hearing more about this ministry during
lunch Sunday or if you are able to host the Hales in your home Saturday night. |
Oasis - July 14th
Walking Toward the Dawn: How do we sustain and enrich our journey with
Christ? Where do we find the strength to stay at it for the long haul? In this
Oasis meeting we will share best practices, rather than best theories, for
nurturing an alive and growing relationship with God. We'll meet from 7-9 p.m. at Karen Lamont's
home: 1082 Burning Tree Dr.,
Chapel Hill, 27517.

Set Up Celebration - July 19th
Set-up
Celebration! Sunday, July 19th at 11:45 a.m. Come help ASC honor the
individuals who have volunteered on set-up crews over the years. We will
have cake, refreshments, a dramatic skit entitled The Chair Nazi, and a
chair throwing contest. Plan on sticking around after the worship service
to celebrate the fact that the days of setting up are over!

Welcome John and Sile - August 15th
On August 15th we will be having an open house party to welcome Sile
into our church family at the Breedlove home (704 Greenwood Road, Chapel Hill).
This will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate John and Sile's new life
together and we look forward to seeing you all there! Please RSVP to Sally.

Altar Guild Volunteers Needed
The Altar Guild is in need of volunteers to help in the areas of Sunday
morning Communion preparations and flowers. This is a wonderful
opportunity to serve God and our church by helping to create a
beautiful and Christ-centered space for worship and the Eucharist, the
high point of our service. If this is an area of ministry that
you would like to be involved in, don't hesitate to contact Karen Lamont (919) 932-3230. |
Youth Volunteers Needed
Would
you prayerfully consider being a member of the ministry team that is faithfully
sharing the gospel with youth and discipling them in Jesus Christ? Roots, the youth
ministry at All Saints Church, is growing and God is working in the lives of our
youth as well as drawing youth from our surrounding communities to be a
part of what he is doing here. Praise God! As a result we are in need of a few
more volunteers to help with hospitality, leading small groups, and just
hanging out with and loving teenagers at our weekly gatherings. Contact Thomas Kortus to learn more about our needs in this area of ministry.
