The Vision and Mission of All Saints Church

Since our inception, God has given All Saints Church clarity in our calling as a church. Early in our life, we sensed the wonder of God’s heart for this local church and developed extensive documents designed to reflect this “DNA” – What We Believe (our convictions and commitments) and What We Do (our strategies and activities). These documents are available to read online and in print for all who want to thoroughly know and understand what God is doing in and through All Saints.

Our Vision: Jesus begins by simply calling us to follow him (Mark 1:17), a powerfully descriptive picture! To follow Jesus means to grow in closeness and intimacy with him, to follow his example and to obey his commands and desires. His fundamental desires for us are summed up in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. What do we learn through these profound commands? His vision, his desire, is for us to be reconciled with God and with one another, and for more and more people to come to know the life that only Christ brings in all its fullness. What a vision for life – a life of eternal, authentic love with God and with one another!

Our Mission: As we turn this vision into a plan of action and a picture of what we hope to be and become in the years ahead (a mission statement), we also have been led to Scriptural instructions. Jesus calls his followers to worship God in spirit & truth (John 4:24), to grow together in genuine mutual service and love (John 13:34-35) and to bless our world with the words and deeds of the Gospel of life in Christ (Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Peter 3:8-17).

It is our prayer that God will grant us this privilege of fulfilling this mission and of being the people that he wants us to be. We pray that the results will be evident in the Chapel Hill/Durham area for years to come!

Our Vision

The Great Commandment

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

The Great Commission

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing then in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Our Mission

We commit our prayers, resources, energies and activities to grow as earnest followers of Jesus Christ, growing in intimacy with Jesus, following the example of Jesus and obeying the commands of Jesus. That means we are committed to becoming people who are . . .
