The Prayer of Humble Access
We do not presume to come to this your Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness,
but in your abundant and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your Table; but you are the same Lord whose character is always to have mercy.
Grant us, therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that our sinful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our souls washed through his most precious blood, and that we may evermore dwell in him, and he in us. Amen.
Updated Flow of Communion
We’ve experimented with a few different ways of inviting the congregation forward for Communion—some have flowed more smoothly than others! Thank you for your patience and grace as we’ve worked out the kinks.
Moving forward, we’ll return to having two Communion stations in the center aisles. In addition, there will be a third station on the far left (near the band) for those who require gluten-free bread. All will continue to come forward via the center aisle, and then return to your seat using the side aisles. We hope this new setup will help reduce congestion and make the flow smoother for everyone.
The gluten-free bread has been prepared completely separately, with no cross-contamination. It is store-bought and certified gluten-free. To care well for those with gluten sensitivities, please use this station only if you require gluten-free Communion. Also, refrain from dipping regular bread into the gluten-free chalice or drinking from the silver chalice at this station if you have consumed regular bread.
At each station, you’ll receive the bread and may either dip it into the pottery chalice or drink from the silver common cup. The rugs beneath the stations are placed there to carefully catch any drops of bread or wine. They will be taken outside after each service and shaken free of any remaining crumbs of consecrated bread. Parents, please guide your children through the process.
If you choose to receive only the bread or only the wine, be assured that Communion in one kind still conveys the fullness of God’s grace—just let your server know your preference.

We’ve begun making and serving our own bread at Communion. To join our Bread Guild, contact Kendall Vanderslice.
Gluten Free Bread
Caring for our parishioners who have gluten intolerances is important to us. Currently THIS is the kind of store bought certified gluten-free bread we are serving on Sundays.
