The Easter Vigil is our sacred night of waiting and watching—the culmination of Lent and the first celebration of the Resurrection. In this ancient and beautiful liturgy, we trace the story of God’s saving love: from Creation, through the deliverance of Israel, and across the sweeping arc of Scripture that leads us to the life, death, and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our service is rich with symbol and song—incense rising, Scripture proclaimed, prayers offered, and voices lifted together in praise. We will gather around the new fire on the Veranda to begin, then enter the darkened church by candlelight. Together we will baptize, renew our own baptismal vows, celebrate Holy Communion, and rejoice as we proclaim the resurrection of Christ.
Please plan to arrive a few minutes early as we begin outside around the fire pit. Bring bells—or simply your keys—to ring out the joyful “Alleluia!” as we welcome Easter morning.
Following the service, all are invited to a festive Vigil Reception featuring chocolate fondue and sparkling cider.
If you are able to help with the reception, please contact Joy McNeal.
Nursery care will be available during the service.
